Updates on Current Condition of Ladies’ Code Members

Ladies’ Code’s agency, Polaris Entertainment, has provided new updates on the current status of the group members—Sojung, Ashley, and Zuny—who are continuing treatment for injuries sustained from the car accident that occurred earlier this month.

Polaris Entertainment revealed to TV Daily, “All three of them are still receiving treatment in the hospital.”

The agency revealed further information about Sojung, who suffered more serious injuries: “In Sojung’s case, it seems that it will take some time for her bones to heal, as she fractured her facial bones. So we are still unsure of when she will be discharged, but she has been making a quick recovery, following a successful surgery for facial fractures on September 5. Polaris stated that she is able to speak and even get up and move around on her own.

Maxilla shown in semi-transparent.
Maxillary sinus shown in red.
It was previously reported that Sojung underwent binding surgery after sustaining great damage to her maxillary sinus  (behind the cheekbones), and she is now in the stages of recovery. She will be remaining in hospital and will be receiving treatment for some time longer.”

Many questions arise: how will this affect SoJung's voice? How soon will she be able to sing after surgery? According to Chanteur.net/Sinus Surgery >>>  Typically, the voice improves in resonance and clarity. Pain is usually mild to moderate, but individuals will vary. Pain medication is generally sufficient to control the pain. Intubation does not have to be traumatic. If your surgeon and anesthesiologist understand that you are a singer, vocal fold trauma can be avoided. Anesthesiologists are dedicated to avoidance of any sort of trauma during surgery and will do whatever is necessary. Often it is a result of the surgeon moving the patient’s head around that causes the tube to bump the folds. The laryngeal mask is a possible alternative. This device fits over the larynx, but if it does not fit properly over the laryngeal opening, a tube will be necessary. The anesthesiologist will not risk your life to protect your vocal apparatus.
Most singers can sing immediately after surgery, though you will attract attention in the recovery room ;-). Practically speaking, assuming a normal recovery, you should be able to pick up in a couple days. However, people vary in their ability to recover from surgery so it would be reasonable to discuss this with your surgeon first. It would be a good idea to avoid committing to a performance for a couple weeks post-operatively. Lessons, practice and so on can usually begin in a couple days.

Another news source reported that Sojung is expected to be in the hospital for another six months, with another surgery scheduled in two months.

With regards to Ashley and Zuny, Polaris Entertainment shared, “ Both of them are receiving continuous treatment, as they also need to rest and be stabilized.” They aren't physically  injured but are in severe shock. Some of them or maybe both may not even be able to speak or comprehend the situation.  They have witnessed the death of their members and very close friends, who was probably like sisters to them. If they were conscious after the accident they would have seen some very, very horrific things. Not to mention the survivors guilt, they most likely feel.

The three remaining members may come back on stage, to sing, dance and smile but the pain is to much for them to bear. They will not be the same as their normal selves. This is truly traumatic for them.

Wishing the best for them throughout their recovery process!

Daniel Padilla : The voice over the scandal

EVERYONE has his own share of scandal and Daniel Padilla is not an exception.  Many are talking about the controversial audio recording voice of Daniel saying he was excited about having received a text message from Jasmine Curtis-Smith.

The conversation heard in the 90-second clip triggered speculation about Padilla's ties with Jasmine Curtis-Smith, his co-star in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, "Bonifacio Ang Unang Pangulo."

Padilla’s was heard making fun of Sam Concepcion and got flattered to received a text messages from Jasmine. Before the recorded voice was ended, it is heard that the voice were saying,
" Wala na si Patrick. Wala nang mangugulo sa akin. Wala na yung tropa ni Sam. " (Patrick left. No one will mess me up. Sam's friends were gone.)
Before the alleged voiced recorded was ended, it is heard on the record that the boys who are talking on the audio said: “Wala na si Patrick. Wala nang mangugulo sa ‘kin. It is also believed that the name " Sam " mentioned in the recorded audio is referred by the netizens to Sam Concepcion, the current boyfriend of Jasmine. Daniel was brave enough to admit it was his voice on the audio recording circulating online. Concepcion’s camp refused to comment on the issue however Jasmine’s sister Anne Curtis defended her when a netizens labeled her as “slut”.

Daniel Padilla Audio Scandal (Is It Jasmine Curtis?)

A group of boys is having a "boys' talk". One of them is said to be Daniel Padilla making a lot of swearing - the "T" word is actually his favorite. Apparently, the video was secretly recorded while the boys are having a chitchat. Audio isn't clear much but enough to hear Daniel's voice.

Kathniel’s fans were shocked by an audio clip that spread on social media. The 19-year-old actor admitted that his rumored girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo was hurt by it but they have since patched things up. Padilla also said he was saddened by the action of a person whom he thought was a friend.

Here's a timeline of events leading up to Padilla and Curtis-Smith's respective first statements on the controversial audio clip:

September 11: Padilla and Curtis-Smith filmed scenes for "Bonifacio Ang Unang Pangulo." The two will portray present-day students studying the life of Andres Bonifacio, played in the film by Padilla's uncle Robin.

September 15: Curtis-Smith's father, Australian lawyer James Ernest, underwent surgery. In her exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News last Monday, the 20-year-old actress said her fellow cast members in "Bonifacio," including Padilla, had noticed that she was worried about her father's health.
According to Curtis-Smith, she received a text message from Padilla expressing his support and asking about the condition of her father on the day of the operation.

"All our conversations revolved around how my father was doing, kumusta 'yung operation niya. Iyon, (how was the surgery? that's it!) that's where it ended," she said. "Really, everything revolved as if we were friends. I thought nothing else of it. Nothing was meant from the texts, aside from concern, because they saw how fragile I was regarding my dad and his health."

September 18: The 90-second audio clip of Padilla's conversation with friends was uploaded online. In the covertly recorded clip, a voice tagged as Padilla's seemed to express excitement about receiving a text message.

In the latter part of the 90-second clip, a voice is heard saying: "Wala na si Patrick. Wala nang manggugulo sa 'kin. Wala na 'yung tropa ni Sam." (Patrick is gone. No one will be messing me up. All of Sam's friends left.)
This triggered speculation that the "Sam" being referred to in the clip was Concepcion, who confirmed his relationship with Curtis-Smith in April.

Also on September 18, Curtis-Smith's sister, Anne, answered an Instagram user calling the younger actress a "slut" over her ties with Padilla. "You know nothing sweety," Anne said. "My sister is not a slut… Such harsh words from someone who doesn't know her or probably has never met her."
Anne responded to comment on a photo posted by Curtis-Smith showing her with Concepcion, with whom she will co-star in a TV series.

September 19: Photos of Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo taken during rehearsals for the "The Naked Truth" fashion show by Bench made the rounds online. The actress' expression in the photos had fans speculating that she was not on good terms with Padilla.

However, in his interview on Monday, Padilla said Bernardo was not necessarily unhappy or had ill feelings toward him. "Hindi naman puwedeng [palaging] nakangiti, 'di ba? At saka binibigyan natin ng meaning ang lahat ng bagay. Huwag natin masyadong i-overthink ang mga bagay na hindi naman kailangan," he said. (You don't have to smile all the time, right? Besides why we always give meaning to everything that we do especially to those non-sense things. Don't over-react to things that are unnecessary....he said.)

Later on the same day, Bernardo posted on Instagram a photo of her with Padilla, captioned only: "Best guy ever." Fans hoped this was a sign that the "audio scandal" had little effect on the TV couple's relationship.

September 20: Padilla and Bernardo took their turn on the runway at the Bench show at the Mall of Asia Arena. The actor pulled a magic trick and handed Bernardo a rose from a handkerchief, before giving her a hug that quickly made headlines.
Speaking to ABS-CBN News on Monday, Padilla explained that he hugged Bernardo to show his appreciation for her understanding and for forgiving him after the circulation of the "audio scandal."

"Iyong yakap na 'yon ay talagang pagpapasalamat na pinatawad niya ako. Talagang kami ay back to normal kaya masayang-masaya ako," he said. "Wala, eh. Doon lang ako nagkamali. Lalaki ako, eh." ( "That's the hug of appreciations.... I'm so thankful that she have forgiven me. We're back to normal that's why I'm so happy," he said. " Nothing! I know I was wrong... I'm a man... you know!)

Are Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, popularly known as the loveteam Kathniel, just pretending that everything is alright? Look at them On cam and Off cam. The off cam was taken during the rehearsals for Bench’s #Thenakedtruth fashion show while the on cam is what the general public saw during the fashion show. Kathryn Bernardo allegedly cried rather hard upon learning of the so-called “Daniel Padilla audio scandal.” That could have been the reason she was really upset at Daniel Padilla during rehearsals but she managed to pull it together shortly before the actual show when she got to have a heart to heart talk with Daniel Padilla, hence the “Best ever guy” post.

September 22: On Instagram, Bernardo alluded to a "hard battle" with a quote, which fans speculated was in relation to her relationship with Padilla. The actress, however, has yet to issue any statement regarding the controversial audio clip or her ties with Padilla.

Curtis-Smith, on the other hand, went on record to assure fans of Bernardo and Padilla that she has no intentions of getting in between the two. She maintained that she and Padilla were only talking as friends when they exchanged text messages.

The "Dementia" actress said she and Concepcion clarified matters immediately when the audio clip circulated. "Iyon naman ang maganda sa amin, eh. ( " That's the good thing with us..." ) We always make sure that at the end of the day, there is communication between us, so that we're not lost with where we're going," she said.
Curtis-Smith also thanked those who, despite being fans of "Kathniel," still come to her defense amid harsh criticisms in connection with her ties to Padilla.

In a separate interview on the same day, Padilla finally confirmed that it was his voice in the audio clip and said he has learned from his mistake. While Padilla did not directly mention Curtis-Smith or Concepcion, Padilla also asked his fans to refrain from further disparaging anyone's name to supposedly defend his tandem with Bernardo. Asked how he has been coping, Padilla said: "Okay lang ako. Talagang lahat, pinagdadaanan 'yan. Isipin nalang natin na may mga taong mas mararami pang malalim na problema kaysa sa atin." "Ako, nagpapasalamat nalang ako sa Diyos na binigyan niya ako ng ganitong problema. At least ako, talagang tumatag ako lalo. Sa pagdadasal, lalo kong [napalakas ang] sa faith ko sa Diyos. Nagpapasalamat ako dahil natututo ka sa mga pagkakamali." (I'm okay. Sometimes we have to struggle. Let's just think that others are less fortunate with more problems than us. I'm very thankful to God that He gave me these kind of trials. At least , I become stronger. I'm just praying to give me strength , and those trials gives me more faith to God. I've learned from my mistakes.")

Ladies' Code coping after the tragedy

Polaris Entertainment has released updates on the condition of Ladies' Code's  surviving members Ashley, Zuny, and Sojung.

On September 23, Polaris told TV Daily, "All three are still receiving treatment at the hospital." As for Sojung, who received the heaviest injuries of the three, the agency revealed, "In Sojung's case, she's hurt a bone in her face, so it looks like it will take a long time for the bone to heal. That's why we don't know when she'll be discharged from the hospital, and she'll be resting at the hospital for now."

It was
reported that Sojung had completed her facial bone fracture surgery and had repaired injuries on September 5th. The surgery was successful and she is now recovering. She had extreme swelling in her face, but has now started to improve in her condition.  It was reported that Sojung, who has not been aware that fellow Ladies’ Code member EunB has passed away, asked why everyone visiting her was dressed in black. Polaris Entertainment has avoided telling her the heartbreaking news, after Sojung’s condition has been unstable since the accident. The clueless Sojung asked on September 4 why everyone visiting her was dressed in black, unaware that EunB’s funeral and wake was being held.

She asked Polaris staff: “Why is everyone coming to visit me all in black?” Dispatch said that Sojung stopped asking, after she realized that there were some tragic news ahead.  Sojung was made aware of the news after she was in a stable enough condition to use her phone. She searched articles on her cellphone and was in great shock at first, and burst into tears, but is slowly coming to terms with the news. Polaris Entertainment decided against telling her about the tragic news, to preserve her well-being for the surgery.

Then again, Sojung was in distress after learning about RiSe’s death.
Ladies’ Code’s RiSe tragically passed away on September 7 at 10:10AM KST, after doctors were unable to save her life. Ashley and Zuny, who are admitted in the same hospital, are comforting Sojung. The three members are relying on each other to overcome this difficult time.”

The three are in deep grief and enduring this hard time together right now. The representative from Polaris revealed that too much attention on this matter will become hurtful to the three members at the moment. He said, "They were hurt very much by this accident. Too much exposure of it on media could hurt them even more. As they are trying to fight this hardship well, I hope you can send them encouragements."

On the other hand,  Zuny and Ashley were also reported to be resting and continuously receiving treatment. They broke down into tears during EunB's  funeral, but they were attended by EunB’s courageous mother who told them she would look after them, despite losing her own daughter.

EunB’s mother said to Ashley and Zuny: “Don’t ever give up. You guys have to continue on for EunB. Ashley, since your mom is not here, I’ll be your Korean mother.”

The three Ladies’ Code members Ashley, Zuny, and Sojung were also present to pay their respects to their much loved friend, Rise.  Sojung was unable to attend EunB’s funeral as she was scheduled for surgery, but she made her way out in a wheelchair for Rise's funeral, despite still being in recovery.

The group were returning to Seoul after a schedule at Daegu, when back tire of the van fell out and ran into a wall, which caused the death of member EunB at 1:30AM last night. She passed away at the scene and Rise after she has been unconscious for four days.

Sojung, Ashley, and Zuny returned to the hospital after RiSe funeral surgery to continue treatment.  Sojung is still in recovery, while Ashley and Zuny, who had minor injuries, are still receiving hospital treatment. Let's hope for the quick recovery of all three ladies.

PROJECT: Message in a Bottle (Messages to send to remaining Ladies' Code members, Ashley, Zuny & Sojung)

            Ashley                                          Zuny                                            So-Jung

Let us show our love and support to the remaining members, Ashley, Zuny and Sojung....

Ladies' Code: Ashley Fan Club, hosted by Ashley's family, relatives and friends is currently collecting messages to send to Ladies' Code.

As you may already know, on September 3, 2014 at around 1:20 AM, Ladies' Code's van lost one of its back wheels, which caused them to strike a guard rail. This sadly ended the life of lovely code, Go EunB, leaving Kwon Rise with severe brain and stomach damage, Lee Sojung with damage to her maxillary sinus, and major trauma to Ashley Choi and Kim Joomi (Zuny).

After a 4 day fight, where Rise endured a 9 hour surgery, was resuscitated and couldn't breathe 3 times, pure code Kwon Rise ultimately passed away as of September 7, 2014 at 10:10 AM.

This project is to support the remaining members: Ashley, Zuny and Sojung in their recovery process. I ask that you send in a message here, and we will mail it to Polaris. If you would like to sign your name, feel free to, as I believe that a message with a name is more personal.

Tribute to Ladies' Code's girls, EunB and Rise

To honor members EunB and Rise who passed away in a car accident earlier this month, Ladies' Code has unveiled a special music video for their song "I'm Fine Thank You" in their honor. The music video was released on September 16, 2014.

In Korea, music fans have come together to send "I'm Fine Thank You" to the top of the country's real-time music charts (such as Melon). Heartbreakingly, Ladies' Code revealed earlier this year a group goal and EunB's wishes to earn a No. 1 spot for their "I'm Fine Thank You" single and music fans have belatedly made that dream come true.

The touching song featuring lyrics about waiting for someone that will never come, but wishing them happiness anyway. The track was included on the group's Code#02 Pretty Pretty EP from September 2013. The song has edged out new singles on Korea's real-time rankings. At press time, the track is also ranked as Ladies' Code "Top Song" on US iTunes.

The four-minute heartwarming clip  shows personal and behind-the-scene footage of the group in the recording studio, meeting fans, filming performances, goofing off together, doing interviews and hanging out backstage  and much more. The video highlights not only EunB and Rise's personalities, but also their sisterly bond. The interviews with EunB and Rise were equal parts heartwarming and heartbreaking as the girls tell their fans how much they love them and that they will see them soon.
An emotional EunB expressing gratitude to her fans
with parting words, “I love you.
You know I really love you, right? Love you. Thank you!!! ”
as tears roll down her face.
This heartfelt video includes a message that EunB expressed about the group’s last music show performance for “Kiss Kiss”: “I’m so sad, but this is not the end because we’re going to continue seeing each other. This may be our last broadcast but we’re going to keep meeting, right? So I’m not going to be sad. Please continue to come to see  us. Promise! ” Also, at the end, RiSe and EunB can be seen saying, “Thank you very much” and EunB's parting words, “I love you. You know I really love you, right? Love you. Thank You!!” as tears roll down her face.

At the end of the tribute video, the caption reads, “RiSe…EunB, we hope you’re forever happy in heaven. Thank you. We love you.”
