Ladies' Code member Rise's passing, much like EunB's is likely to continue a wave of grief over the K-pop community as fans and members of the music industry mourned their loss.The funeral of K-Pop star Rise took place, September 09, 2014 (Tuesday) at University Anam Hospital in Seongbukgu, Seoul in the presence of her mother, maternal grandmother, older sister, older brother, many fellow celebrities, and more, the funeral also set to take place in Japan where Rise was born and raised.

Rise was second member to lose her life after the girl group was involved in a road accident on September 3. EunB died en route to the hospital immediately after the incident. Following the funeral, RiSe will be laid to rest in Japan with close family and friends, where she grew up as a fourth generation Korean Japanese.

Many of Rise’s friends in the industry came out to pay their respects. Among the attendee included: Super Junior’s Donghae, Ryeowook, Leeteuk, Eunhyuk and Kyuhyun, TVXQ’s Changmin, SHINee’s Minho, K.Will, Yoo Jaesuk, Kangnam, KARA’s Gyuri, Bestie, B1A4, Youngji, Boys Republic, ZE:A’s Hwang Kwanghee, Moon Junyoung, and more.

The three Ladies’ Code members Ashley, Zuny, and Sojung were also present to pay their respects to their much loved friend. Sojung was unable to attend EunB’s funeral as she was scheduled for surgery, but she made her way out in a wheelchair for Rise, despite still being in recovery.

Although a 9 hour emergency surgery was performed; RiSe's blood pressure dropped significantly low. The surgeon had to immediately stop and postpone surgery until her condition stabilized.

Due to the drop in blood pressure, RiSe was in the ICU for 3 days in an unconscious state. Ultimately, she passed away September 07, 2014 /Sunday mornibng. Her exact time of death was 10:10 am KST. It has been reported that RiSe had her family and agency staff members by her side at the time of her death.
Agency Polaris Entertainment stated, "After her cremation at the Seoul Memorial Park, she will cross over to Japan with her family where there will be another funeral with her family, friends, and acquaintances in Japan. After that, she will be laid to rest there"
It has been a tragic unfolding of events that has left the world in shock and sadness. The agency concluded, "We hope you will remember the bright and pretty faces of both members RiSe and EunB for a long time. We also ask that you continue giving a lot of support and prayers for the people who are sadder than anybody else: their family and the members Ashley, Sojung, and Zuny."
A participant of the 2009 Miss Korea beauty pageant, Kwon went on to star in the first season of “The Great Birth” in 2010. She debuted with Ladies’ Code last year.

The September 3 (Wednesday car) accident that took Kwon and fellow member Go EunB’s lives was attributed to a faulty back wheel on the Hyundai Grand Starex and rainy expressway roads by police. Sojung, Ashley, and Zuny returned to the hospital after RiSe funeral surgery to continue treatment. Lee is still in recovery, while Choi and Kim, who had minor injuries, are still receiving hospital treatment.
